CBSE’s Re-Evaluation Portal Remains Inactive; Iran Suspends Crucial Peace Talks With U.S. Over Israel’s Lebanon Strikes

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has come under severe criticism as its designated online portal for the verification and re-evaluation of Class 12 examination papers remained completely inactive. Although the board had officially assured students that the system would be fully operational by June 1 to guarantee a glitch-free and transparent process, eager users found the portal entirely inaccessible well into the late evening. This unexpected delay has triggered immense worry and frustration among hundreds of students and parents. Many who are dissatisfied with their initial scores are now stuck waiting in absolute uncertainty, fearing that they will miss upcoming college admission deadlines while waiting to submit their official requests for a paper recount.

In a separate and major international development, Iran has officially suspended all preliminary discussions and the exchange of mediated text messages with the United States regarding a potential peace agreement. The Tasnim news agency reported that this sudden diplomatic halt is a direct response to the escalating military and air strikes conducted by Israel against targets in Lebanon. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi strongly emphasized that a ceasefire on all fronts—explicitly including Lebanon—was a strict precondition for any final agreement, and labeled the recent strikes a clear violation.

By freezing these critical communication channels, Tehran is signaling a major protest against regional military escalation. While U.S. officials claim that behind-thescenes discussions are still moving rapidly, Iran’s firm stance has introduced deep complications into the fragile global efforts to find a diplomatic end to the ongoing conflict.
