The Global Security Asia 2015 was inaugurated by Singapore Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Home affairs and Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mr.Masagos Zulkifli bin Masagos Mohamad at 9am, today at Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre. The program includes three days of exhibition and two days of seminars on aspects of global terrorism and security from 3 to 5 March.
Key military and security delegates from around the world will gather to attend Asia’s first ISIS-focussed homeland security and counter-terrorism Conference and Exhibition, Global Security Asia (GSA) 2015.ISIS presents a credible and wide– ranging threat to global security, not just in Middle East.ISIS’s ability to radicalise and militarise individuals anywhere in the world is growing. “We wants to assess the impact of the ISIS threat in Asia, including from chemical, biological and radiological attacks,” said conference chairman Dr.Rohan Gunaratna, Professor of Security Studies at the S.RaJaratnam School of International Studies & Head of International Centre for Political Violence and Terrorism Research at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.
178 manufacturers from 31 countries are participating in the exhibition.Singapore leads the number of exhibitors by having 50 stalls. The various equipments on display are the latest one for the use of Military and Police. Various kinds of lethal and non-lethal weapons are on display. Night vision and heat-seeking sensors attract the visitors. Electronic and digital equipments to track and detect cyber crime are available.
Foirty five papers will be presented during the three day event by top experts from around the world. The subjects include all aspects of detecting, investigating and prosecuting all types of criminals who pose a threat to human security and peace.
