The first soccer game at the newly opened National Stadium was played today between a Singapore select XI and Juventus FC. Juventus won the game by a margin of 5 goals to nil, in a one sided game. Though the Singapore team played hard it was not good enough to counter the skilful Juventus team who have won the Italian League 32 times.
The environment in the stadium was electrifying with the drumbeat and the famous Kallang Wave coming back to re-kindle the memory of yesteryears. The facilities in the newly constructed stadium is great, and this match was a treat to start with in view of the on-going events that are planned in the future.
The next soccer match will be on 14th of October between Japan and Brazil. Another great event in the offering.
