SINGAPORE—The Singapore NRI Forum is organizing a large-scale gathering in honour of the Prime Minister of India, Mr Narendra Modi, on the evening of 24 November 2015 at the Singapore EXPO, the highlight of which will be Prime Minister Modi’s address.
This event is supported by over 100 Indian organizations based in Singapore and seeks to bring together Indians and supporters of India from all walks of life to celebrate India’s coming of age in the global arena.
Momentum has been building day by day and more than 18,000 people have already registered to attend the event to hear Prime Minister Modi’s address, in a similar format to recent gatherings held in San Francisco, Dubai and London.
“It is a great pleasure for us to receive Prime Minister Modi in Singapore and we plan to do it in style,” said Mr Atul Temurnikar, Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the event. “We will celebrate Singapore and India’s great relations and pay tribute to our deep historical, cultural and economic ties.”
There has been overwhelming support for the event and more than 2,000 volunteers have offered their assistance for what promises to be one of the most notable events for the Indian diaspora this year.
“We are delighted with the support and dedication of our volunteers. It is a pleasure to work with each and every one of them,” said Mr Satya Murthy Vamaraju, Chief Coordinator of this event. “We greatly appreciate the cooperation extended by the Singapore government and the High Commission of India in Singapore to the event and look forward to this being a momentous occasion for Singapore and India.”
