In the 2011 strategic review of SINDA’s programmes and services, a key challenge area that was identified for focus was getting Singaporean Indian parents more involved in the development of their children. While parents had the right intent, they need better skills to deal with their children’s academic and social needs. Thus, the formation of SINDA’s Parents Division to engage Indian parents, share with them resources and create greater awareness of the importance of their roles in their children’s lives. Since its set-up, the division has rolled out number of initiatives in helping parents, especially the fathers, in taking ownership of their roles within the family. On that account, there are 2 new initiatives, Conference for Indian Fathers & Parenting Conference which will take place this weekend.
Conference for Indian Fathers 2013

On 14 September 2013, Saturday, over 150 Indian fathers will gather at The Singapore EXPO to learn better ways of actively engaging with their children and playing their strong role as fathers.
