Singapore: National Malayalam Talentime 2023 by Naval Base Kerala Library (NBKL) was concluded with the finale held on Saturday, 30th June 2023 at The Grassroots Club (Ang Mo Kio). The competitions were conducted in two categories, for juniors up-to 10years and open with no age limit. Five (5) finalists we identified through separate audition process for each category, held on 14th May 2023.
Devna Rashobh was announced the winner in Junior category, received a cash prize of SGD500/- and trophy, followed by Ashvi Shajeeb (first runner up) and Hannah Johns (second runner up). Devika Nair and Jacob Paul were awarded the consolation prizes.
Ananya Sanoob was announced the winner in Open category, received a cash prize of SGD1,000/- and trophy, followed by Prem Shankar (First Runner up) and Thanmaya Suresh (Second Runner up). Bhavna Krishna and Neetha Joy were awarded the consolation prizes.
Ananya Sanoob received the award for “most popular singer” which was decided through audience poll.
A new category was introduced this year, for the popularity in social media. Ananya Sanoob became the ‘Social Media Icon’ based on total responses from Facebook and Instagram posts.
The event was well received by a full house of audience from the Malayalee community. NBKL’s way of conducting the show did once again amaze the audience, which was evident from the positive feedbacks received during and after the program.
NBKL’s National Malayalam Talentime singing competition has been a launch pad for many singing talents in the past. During the event, it was announced that NBKL’s popular Onam show ‘ONARAVU’ shall be coming back this year in September. Details of all the upcoming events shall be available on FB (NBKL_SINGAPORE) and IB (NBKL_SG)
