The exhibition will also feature a Silent Auction, The Next Great Artist Under 20 Awards, and a Raffle event that helps support young autistic artists at Pathlight School.
Undiscovered talents from Singapore and abroad all studying Fine Art at Little Artists Art Studio, these artists display a highly expressive style and a wide range of techniques and thoughtfulness far beyond their years. The LAUREATES are aptly named. Up to 100 pieces will be shown each day including, paintings, sketches, sculptures, digital media works, and mixed media works. Pieces explore unconventional, classic and contemporary methods; subjects range widely from fantasy to portraits, from rich landscapes to vibrant 3D works. Each artist spent weeks and months creating their pieces, drawing inspiration from their immediate surroundings and memories, as well as their dreams and deeper realms of their emotions.
If one imagines a children’s art exhibition to be a simple finger-painting jamboree, this series will transform your opinion of the abilities of young people. From large-scale canvases, to highly complex sculptures, to thoughtful nods to love, luxury, culture, social and environmental issues, these young artists are launching onto the National stage. This is the second in a three-part series celebrating Little Artists’ 20th Anniversary that began from 2nd-3rd September, 2017 with the inaugural exhibition at National Gallery Singapore. The second show is the upcoming show at the Visual Arts Centre from 20th – 23rd September, 2018. The final show in the series is at The Arts House at Old Parliament on 24th November 2018.
